Sea Otter specification other than above:
Engine: Yanmar 4JH3-HTE 100 hp with one 12 volt 80Amp alternator for the dedicated starter battery and one 24 volt 110 Amp alternator for the charging of the main battery bank.
Genset: Northern Light, Alaska Diesel, 3 cyl diesel engine with a 5 Kw 230 volt generator with it's own starter battery.
Electrical system: Main consumer system is on 24 volt DC, then we have a 12 volt DC system for some older nav systems and the HF radio. The 230 volt A/C system is fed from either the genset, shore power or the 3 Kw inverter.
All electrical components are from Victron Energy in the Netherlands. the consists of:
1 Charger/Inverter 24 volt 70 amp charging and 3 Kw inverter, it is called a Phoenix Multi Plus 24/3000/70
1 Isolation transformer on 3.6 Kw
1 Power Manager, that switches from either electrical source, should it fail, to a source that can feed the Multi Plus.
2 DC/DC converters 24 to 12 volt
A 640 Amp Hr 24 volt main battery bank, AGM type. Consists of 8 160 Ah AGM batteries
One 200 Amp Hr 24 volt batterybank for the watermaker and windlass, these are sealed flooded marine typ batteries and has it's own charger a Phoenix 24V/25A.
1 Air Cond Unit from Marine Air Systems on 24.000 btu.
1 24 volt 1200 Amp Windlass
1 Schenker Watermaker on 24 volt with an output of 100 litres of fresh water per hour.
A 2 kg pressure water system with a 55 litre boiler for the hot water. The boiler heats the water either via the 230 volt system or via the Webasto dieselheater.
1 Webasto dieselheater for the waterborne central heating system, with an extra circulation pump. With shore power we run the extra circulation pump only, to get heat in the central heating system, as this circuit is now heated via the boiler on 230 volt. By using the boiler heated water to heat up the central heating circuit, there is no need to use the Webasto heater and wasting diesel. 2 Freezer compartments of 50 litres each. 24 volt air and waater cooled.
1 Dayfridge of 110 litres, air and water cooled.
1 Gas Cooker (ENO Gourmet) with 4 burners and a good size oven with grill unit.
1 Main bilge pump on 230 volt capacity 230 litres per minute
3 Bilge pumps on 24 volt in the other watertight compartments and in the mast drain tank.
1 Plastimo Offshore liferaft
2 Dinghies, 1 Avon inflatable and 1 Porta Bot 12 feet foldable and a 5hp outboard engine.
1 Furuno Radar
1 EPIRB 406 Mhz
Radios: 1 HF ICOM 700 Pro, 1 VHF fixed, 1 handheld VHF, 3 indedependent GPS systems, one connected to a chartplotter. Iridium satphone.
Sails: 1 Furled main head sail 78 sqm(115% heavy weather genoa), 1 furled cutter sail 27 sqm and a main on 48 sqm full batten. One 160 sqm asymmetrical spinnaker with sock. We have 1 old main sail as spare.
Autopilots: 2, one a Autohelm 4000 electric and one Autohelm 7000 Hydraulic.
Anchors: 1 40Kg CQR, 1 30KG Bruce and one 25Kg CQR plus 100 m 10 mm galvanized chain. A few hundred metres of ropes and lines are also onboard.
2 Freshwater tanks of 250 litres each
3 Diesel tanks of a total of 950 litres
